His Full name is Johann Heinrich Friedrich Grussendorf. He was born in Gifhorn, Hanover, Germany.∼Johann was born to Andreas Friedrich Wilhelm and Catharina Lucie Henriette Oehlmann. He was Christened in ST. Nicolai Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gifhorn, Hannover, Prussia on July 18, 1819. As a young man he immigrated to America in 1845 arriving in Galveston, TX aboard the ship EVERHARD. Johann married Maria Christina Hartung about 1847 in Comal, TX.
