Mrs. Col. A. Murphy Dead.
After a lingering and painful
illness borne with great patience
and cheerfulness, Mrs. Col. A.
Murphy passed to the better land
on Friday, Oct. 3rd, 1913, aged
63 years, two months and 19 days.
Besides her husband, Col. A.
Murphy, she leaves five children
to mourn the loss of a devoted
mother: Fred Wright and Mrs.
Claude Holmes, of Ismay, Mont.,
Mrs. E. H. Shattuck, of Bayfield,
Wis., Mrs. W. A. Shattuck, of
Eagle River, Wis., Ernest Carson,
of this city, and one sister, Mrs.
E. J. Dowling, of St. Charles,
Minn. and a step daughter, Mrs.
George Scarlett, of Canistota, S.
D.
The funeral was held from the
residence on Sunday afternoon.
Rev. E. T. Teachout spoke from
the text, "There shall be no night
there," and the M. E. choir beautifully
rendered her favorite hymns,
"Nearer My God to Thee" and
"Some Time We'll Understand."
The interment was in the Chatfield
cemetery.
One more mother gone to heaven,
One more gentle, tender heart
Gone to wait her loved ones coming
Never more from them to part.
