Alice Pearl Allen, 97, of Carmi, formerly of Lincoln, died at 7:25 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2000, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 3, at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery, Mount Pulaski. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Allen had worked at the Illiopolis Armory and the Stetson China Factory in Lincoln. She was born Aug. 22, 1902, at Birdseye, Ind., a daughter of Jesse and Lillian May Scott Goldman. She married Clifton O. Allen on July 3, 1919, at Mount Pulaski. Surviving are one sister, Gladys Patterson of Noble; one nephew, Myles Patterson of West Salem; one niece, Evelyn Patterson of Rockford; two grandchildren, Jan and Terry Allen of Lincoln; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son and 12 brothers and sisters. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Lincoln. Memorials may be made to Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi.
