Mr. Spence was a retired farmer. He was a native of China Spring and a member of the White Rock Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Monday, at the Rock Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Carl Jones officiating. Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery.
Surviving are his daughters: Mrs. Ruby Kease of Route 10, Waco, Mrs. Eura Bea Duncan, of Fort Worth, Mrs. Jimmie Harrell, of Waco, and Mrs. Katherine Burtchell of Bermuda Islands; sons: Ira Spence, of Valley Mills, Lawrence Spence, of Route 1, China Spring, Leslie Spence and Edwin Spence, both of Fort Worth; sisters: Mrs. Grace Flick, of Waco, Mrs. Nora Garrett and Mrs. Mollie Mayhue, both of Route 1, West; brother, Bud Spence, of Ross; 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
