Mrs. Betty Judkins Blount

Betty Judkins Blount, 88, of Athens, Georgia died Aug. 27, 2005 in Athens.

Family received friends at DeLoach-Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Dr. John Finley officiating. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Percy G. and Bertie S. Judkins and a graduate of Savannah High School and the University of Georgia. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Savannah, since 1928 and a former Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Georgia Unit of Wally Byam Caravan Club and traveled extensively with that group.

Mrs. Blount is survived by her husband of 66 years, Edward H. Blount, and by her son and daughter-in-law Percy and Sandra Blount of Thomson; and two daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia and Tom Litton of Cumming and Barbara and Don Rupert of Edgefield, S.C.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Percy J. Blount Jr., W. Andrew Litton, Patrick Greenhow Blount, John Bradford Adams, James Edward Blount and Wyn Douglas Fortenberry.

The family requests that any memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Savannah, 223 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401.
