Before her death, Pruda gave birth to a boy, Thomas C Keel, Jr. in 1918. Pruda died on November 23, 1918. Her infant son, Thomas, Jr. died on November 24, 1918 and her husband, Thomas, Sr. died on November 20, 1918. It is believed she also had a son named John and a daughter named Lucille who were listed as heirs to her father's estate, John Andrew Hunter. A guardianship was awarded to Leatha Shumaker, believed to be Lettie Mae Hunter Shumaker. According to her nephew, Harold Leon Shumaker, Sr., the children were adopted.
