GULFPORT Services for Bertha Winstead Daves of Gulfport were at 1 p.m. today at Southern Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington.

Ms. Daves, 83, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.

Ms. Davis was a pressman for Stewart Warner. She was a member Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by five daughters, Adene Winstead Brett of Walterboro, S.C., Shirley Winstead Johnson of Greenwood, Sandra Winstead Carr of Lexington, Pat Cooper of Port Richey, Fla., and Mary Ann Sher of Gulfport; two sisters, Marie Ward of Long Beach and Inez Cumming of Yazoo City; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Southern Funeral Home in Lexington.

The Rev. Gage Hyman will officiate at the services. Pallbearers will be Douglas Brett, Edward Kurkendall, Scott Carr, Joshua Sher, Adam Stokas and Todd Stokas.

Southern Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.

Burial will be in Black Hawk Cemetery in Black Hawk.
