Services Will Be Today for Longtime Memphian
Services for Mrs. Leona Holt, wife of Sam J. Holt of
1149 National, will be at 2 this afternoon at the National Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Gardens
with Spencer-Sturla Funeral Home in charge.
Born in Arkansas City. Ark . Mrs. Holt had lived in Memphis
since 1927. She was a member of the National Avenue
Baptist Church. Her husband is a carpenter.
Mrs. Holt leaves four sons, George. Holt of Ocean Springs,
Miss., Clayton Holt of Sacramento, Calif., Henry Holt of
Louisville, Ky., and Jack Holt of 2048 Brighton Road; two
daughters, Mrs. Lillian Wickham of Memphis and Mrs.
Shirley Budde of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers, J. C. James of Memphis and George James of Ackerman, Miss.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
