Elizabeth A. (Steiger) Low, 62, of Longmeadow and Groton Long Point, Conn., a bridal consultant for the Albert Steiger Co., died Saturday at home.

She was the daughter of the late Chauncey A. Steiger, and the only granddaughter of the late Albert E. Steiger, who founded Steiger's Department Stores.

She had also worked at Franklin Simon's and Macy's Department Stores in New York City.

Born in Holyoke, she lived in Longmeadow and also in Groton Long Point, Conn., most of her life.

She attended Northampton School for Girls, graduating from the Emma Willard School, Colby Sawyer Junior College of New Hampshire and the Tobe Coburn Fashion School of New York City.

She was a member of the Springfield Junior League and the Longmeadow Country Club and was known locally as a folk art painter.

She leaves her husband, William H. Low; three sons, James III of Mystic, Conn., Terry A. of Longmeadow and William H. Jr. of Longmeadow; a daughter, Elisabeth L. Stone of Gales Ferry, Conn.; a brother, Reynolds E. Steiger of Acton, and four grandchildren.

The funeral will be tomorrow morning in the First Church of Christ on the Green, Longmeadow, with burial in Longmeadow Cemetery.
