From Der Nord Westen, 17 Mar. 1904:
Death in Kiel last week, from old age debility, of Johann G. Linder(sic), father of August Linder(sic) who is well-known throughout the entire county.
The deceased, who was born in Germany 26 Jan. 1819, came to America in 1861 and settled in Kiel. His wife preceded him in death 13 yrs. ago.
His funeral was held Friday.

Mr. Johann Gottfried Lindner an older and active home owner around here died of old age on March 8. He was born on Jan. 26, 1819 by Garlitz, Schlesein and lived for 86 yrs. In 1848 he was married to Christiane Hanske and came to America in 1861 and right to Town Schleswig. They worked the farm east of here for many years, and for 29 yrs., he was here in his village house. His wife died 13 yrs before him. He leaves one son, Mr. Aug. Lindner and 1 daughter, Louise, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The funeral was on Friday and Rev Reck performed.
