Mrs. Burkhardt, Crawfordsville, Dies
Mrs. J. C. Burkhardt, former Tipton county resident, died at the age of 83 Wednesday evening at a hospital in Crawfordsville, where she resided. Mrs. Burkhardt, who had been ill several months, died at 9:30 p. m., according to word received by Mrs. S. A. Culver, a sister-in-law, of 307 West Jefferson street.
Last rites are planned in Crawfordsville Saturday, and burial is to be in Fairview cemetery. Arrangements have not been completed.
Mrs. Burkhardt, who was a sister of Mrs. Lee Hershman, 120 Walnut street, lived in Tipton county until her marriage to Rev. J. C. Burkhardt, of this community, on April 5, 1893. His death occurred 10 years ago. Mrs. Burkhardt's maiden name was McColley.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Faris Stevens, of Connecticut; Mrs. Gabriel Banks, Morehead, Ky.; two sons, Wendell and Finis Burkhardt, of Crawfordsville; one sister, Mrs. Hershman, and several grandchildren.
