Charlie A. Willis, 61 died at his home at Ledger, Monday, May 14th at noon, following a short illness with pneumonia.

Mr. Willis was a very successful farmer and well loved in his community.

He joined the Snow Creek Baptist Church many years ago.

A short funerl service was held at the home Wednesday afternoon at Two oclock. After this there was a service at the Bear Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Campbell was in charge of the service and assisted by Rev. Thomas and Rev. J. T. Biddle. A solo was sung by Rev. J. W. Roseborough, and other music by quartet composed of Mrs. Arnold Phillips, Mrs. Georgia McNeil, Mr. Roseborough and Mr. H. L. Pack. Mrs. J. B. Deyton was at the piano.

Mr. Willis is survived by his wife, six daughters, Mrs. Virginia McNeill of Greensboro, Mrs. Thomas Whisenant of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Herbert Wilson of Snow Creek, Mrs. Edna Hodge of Charlotte, Mrs. Jack McKinney of Bakersville, and Mrs. Townsell Green of Bakersville, and two sons, Mr. George Willis of Morganton and Howard at home. He also leaves several grandchildren, one of whom, Virginia Hodge, has been living with Mr. and Mrs. Willis.
