Shawn Lee Hamilton, 45, of Lafayette, died at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, 2009, after a six-month battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 15, 1964 in Lafayette to Mary Lee Hamilton of Lafayette and the late James M. Hamilton. On July 2, 1994, he married Lou Ann Page Myer in Lafayette, and she survives.
Surviving with his wife and mother are a stepson, Chad Myer (partner: Steve Riegel) of Chicago; a stepdaughter, Sarah Burkle (husband: Nathan) of Delphi; sisters, Debbie Colwell (husband: Lynn) of West Point, Patti Skuza (husband: Greg) of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Kevina Schumaker (husband: Hutch) of Columbus, Indiana; brothers, Kevin Hamilton and Kerry Hamilton (wife: Traci), both of Lafayette, and Kirk Hamilton (wife: Marti) of Kilmore and his granddaughters, Ella and Ava Burkle.
