After the death of James E. Boles, she married Admiral D. Jones, Jr. 4-4-1996 in Gregg County, Texas
She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baylor University and a Masters degree from East Texas State College.
She began her teaching near Waco and then taught for the New Diana Independent School District in Diana, Texas. She originated the first New Diana High School Band.
For many years she taught for the Gladewater I.S.D. until she retired.
She ended her most successful career in education by substituting for the Gladewater I.S.D.
She was a loyal and strong Christian and a longtime member of the Gladewater First Baptist Church. She, in addition, was involved in every facet of her beloved Gladewater.
She passed from this earth on October 24, 2012. She is survived by a large family.
No formal visitation is scheduled.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Bailey Harris and Larry W. Osborne officiating.
Mildred was laid to rest in Gladewater Memorial Park.
The family is enormously grateful to Gloria Johnson, Patricia Richardson, Velma Lockett and Mildred's host of friends for their outpouring of support, thoughts and prayer expressed during her illness.
