G Andrews Moriarty in his "Pemberton of St Albans and the Mother of Roger Williams" has Roger Williams as the son of Sydrach Williams, Citizen and Merchant Taylor of London:

Roger of Rappahannock Co. Va. He first appears in Rappahannock Co. in 1664, when he bought 200 acres on Totoskey Creek and is styled "Roger Williams planter." On 3 Feb. 1671/2 he, together with his wife Joan, gave a quitclaim deed to Richard Dudley. His will, dated 26 Feb. 1674/5, was proved 2 May 1677. He names his wife and his children, Roger, Sydrach and Betty, his eldest daughter. On 2 Nov. 1677 Samuel Wills of Farnham parish, Rappahannock County, in contemplation of marriage with Joan, relict of Roger Williams, gave over certain property to Roger, son of the deceased Roger Williams, to his brother Sydrach and to his sisters, Susanna and Anne. The children were to have it when they attained the age of 16 years. There was also another sister named Rebecca. [Rappahannock Co. Old Rappahannock County was formed from Lancaster County in 1656 and was divided into Essex County, south of the Rappahannock River, and Richmond County, north of the river, in 1692. Joane lived in Richmond County which was served by North Farnham Parish. The Old Rappahannock County records are held by Essex County.

Totuskey Creek, a tributary of the Rappahannock River, is in Richmond County, Virginia. The Rappahannock lived seasonally on Totuskey Creek, fishing each spring, until they were forced to begin selling their land to the English in 1651.

Roger Williams purchased 200 acres on the south . . . branch of Totuskey Creek in 1664.

The Will of Nathaniel Frith (3 January 1676/7) mentions 'my God Daughter Rebecca Williams Daughter to Jone Williams.'
