The following obituary was published in the Herald Coaster on May 26, 1966:
"Leo D. Albrecht"
L. D. Albrecht, 72, retired building contractor, died Tuesday morning at Polly Ryon Hospital. He had been in ill health for several years.
He was a native of Washington County.
Mr. Albrecht was a farmer in Washington County and at Karnes City before moving to Fort Bend County in 1927 when he entered the contracting business. He retired three years ago.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Thekla Albrecht; a daughter, Mrs. R. C. McCauley of Needvile; a son, Marvin Albrecht of Rosenberg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mrs. Ed Stelter and Mrs. Hulda Kelm of Rosenberg, Mrs. Freida Driebrodt of Geronimo, Mrs. Ella Stelter and Mrs. Emma Stelter of Brenham and Miss Malinda Albrecht of Sealy; and a brother, Otto Albrecht of Brenham.
Funeral services were to be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Central Christian Church with Rev. William E. Robinson officiating. Burial was to be in the W.O.W. Cemetery in Rosenberg.
Garmany and Company were in charge of arrangements. * * *
