Indianapolis News - Monday, March 11, 1895:

Stephen E. Urmston, a lawyer, member of the firm of Urmston & Warrum, died at 10:30 this morning of diabetes. He had been in ill health for some time. He took a sever cold on Friday, March 1, and was soon obliged to take to his bed. He grew gradually worse and died this morning. He leaves a wife and three sons.

Mr. Urmston served as State Senator from Franklin County from 1880 to 1888. In 1889, he came to Indianapolis to live and went into partnership with James A. New who died two years ago. Mr. Urmston then formed a partnership with Henry Warrum, the surviving member of the firm.

Mr. Urmston was born March 31, 1845 in Hamilton County, Ohio. Soon after his birth, his father moved to Franklin County, Indiana, and his childhood was spent there. He was well known as a lawyer, and during his legislative period, was widely acquainted with politicians.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday. The services will be held at the house, 657 College Avenue. There will be a meeting of the Bar Association tomorrow afternoon to take action on his death.
