Wilhelm Paulisch was born in Reichthal, Silesia (Prussia) and immigrated to the USA in 1852. He was a soap boiler and grocer living in New Jersey, Philadelphia, PA, Louisville, KY, St. Louis, MO and Indianapolis, IN, along with his wife, Mathilde Reichter Paulisch, and children:
Caroline/Lena/Cecelia, who married Christopher M. Umbach of Philadelphia; Nellie/Mollie/Mary, who married Michael Robinius; Rudolph Wm, who married Eliza/Louisa Bach; Pauline who married George W. Grace; Wilhelm Frederick/William; Matilda Prima Lousie and Michael Theodore Carol.
He served in Company G of the 28th Regiment of Ohio Infantry from 6 JUL 1861 to 23 JUL 1864. He was on leave from the Dayton Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers when he died in Indianapolis on a visit to see family.
