Mrs. Henry Thompson Allowed to Die Because Her Husband was a Christian Scientist Believer
The Times a few months ago contained a complete exposé of the existence of the cure-all society--Christian Scientists--in this city, and cited several instances wherein death had been hastened by their nefarious practices.
Last Saturday evening there was another death the direct result of the fake curing process as practiced by the scientists.
For some time Mrs.Thompson, wife of Henry Thompson, a laborer, who lives on Madison Avenue, South Lima, has been ill.
Thompson was a believer in mind healing and would have no regularly licensed physician. As a matter of course the poor woman grew worse all the time. Notwithstanding the remonstrance of the neighbors, who implored him to employ a physician, he allowed her no attention whatever and permitted her to slowly die without making an effort to save her, and death claimed her Saturday evening. The funeral services were held at the Shawnee church this afternoon and the remains buried in the cemetery there.
