Mrs. Will H. Davis, lifelong resident of the Hay Valley community, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the local hospital. She was 73 and had been stricken ill about a week earlier with an apparent heart attack.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Jack Green and Rev. C. H. White, were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis was born Jan. 15, 1893. She was Eva Elizabeth Byrom, daughter of John and Molly Yows Byrom, earlyday settlers in the Hay Valley area.
She was married to Mr. Davis, a farmer, on Dec. 29, 1912. He died Aug. 31, 1961.
Mrs. Davis was a longtime member of the Hay Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Milton Earl Davis of Waco and Truman Davis and Wilber Davis, both of Gatesville; one brother, Claude Byrom of Gatesville; two sisters, Mrs. Lewis Meharg of Gatesville and Mrs. J. L. Coward of Ames; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Davis' funeral were Tom P. Thomson, Sam Powell Jr., Bobby Curry, Sterlin Barnard, Gordon Graham and Chester Giddens.
