An Obituary from "Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Friday, May 23, 1958:

Mrs. Gus Barsch, 81, a resident of Coryell County the last 55 years, died Wednesday night in the local hospital.
Mrs. Barsch had been in failing health for several years.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p. m. today at the First Baptist Church in Gatesville, Rev. J. T. Ayers officiating. Burial will be in the Restland Cemetery, Scott's in charge.
Pallbearers will be Charley Lengefeld, H. K. Jackson Sr., Francis Caruth, Luke Walker, Judge R. B. Cross and John P. Reesing.
Deacons of the First Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Barsch, the former Miss Amelia Schulz, was born in Washington County, Texas, April 21, 1877. She spent her childhood there. The Schulz family later moved to Gonzales, and it was there she was married to Mr. Barsch in November of 1897.
Mr. and Mrs. Barsch came to Coryell County in 1903 and purchased a farm in the Plainview community. In 1920 they moved to another farm three miles southwest of Gatesville.
The couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary last November.
Mrs. Barsch was a member of the First Baptist Church. Both she and her husband have been leaders in Baptist work in this county.
Surviving are six sons, Dr. William H. Barsh of Houston, Otto G. Barsch of Gatesville, C. W. Barsh of Kansas City, Kan., Arthur H. Barsh of Dallas, Dr. Albert G. Barsh of Lubbock and Herbert F. Barsh of Waco; one brother, Will Schulz of Peoria, Ill.; one sister, Miss Lydia Schulz of Gatesville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
