Harry F. Asche
Harry F. Asche, 86, of 1916 Harrisonville Ave., North Moreland, a retired Portsmouth and Sciotoville grocer, died at 2 p.m. Thursday at his residence after a long illness.
Born Nov. 23, in Cincinnati, he had bee a grocer in Sciotoville, and later operated a store at Eighth and Chillicothe Sts. For many years.
Surviving are his wife, Opal S. Asche, at home; two sons, Albert of Springfield, and Wesley of Lucasville; three daughters, Mrs. Luke Adams of Lucasville Rt. 4, Mrs. Ralph Gadd of Dallas, Tex., and Mrs. Ralph Scott, 1422 Lincoln St.; three stepsons, Donald Sweeney of Portsmouth Star Route, Oliver Sweeney of Cincinnati and Earl Sweeney of Xenia; two stepdaughters, Mrs. James Mingus, 3162 Gallia St., and Mrs. Mary E. Heil of Thomas Ave.; 33 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
Funeral services are to be at 10 a.m. Monday at Emrick Funeral Home, with Rev. Harry R. Merle officiating. Burial is in the Memorial Burial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
