Born September 4, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Albert and Thresia Carn Abbott.
Married Georgia Smith in 1943. She preceded him in death in 1966. Married Delpha Blanchfield on May 6, 1972.
An alumnus of Granite High School. Machinist for Christensen Diamond for thirty-six years, retiring in 1983.
During World War II, he built aircraft which sparked a life long love of planes. He became a licensed pilot and enjoyed his own plane. In later years he became accomplished in building and flying radio controlled aircraft. A ham operator, enjoyed playing the organ, loved nature and all of its creatures, and was a skilled craftsman.
Survivors: wife; two stepsons and a step-daughter; brothers and sisters, Beverly A. Pratt, Orval T. Abbott, Jerie Brown, Lyla J. Huffman, Phyliss Abbott and Art Abbott; twelve step-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildrden, all of Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 12:00 p.m. in the Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call one hour, prior to the services.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Lawn.
