He married Lilly Stammen on June 27, 1952. Ron and Lilly would have celebrated 51 years of marriage on June 27, 2003. As a young man, he was an Order of the Arrow Boy Scout, and was a veteran who served in the Army during the Korean War. Ron was employed as a sheet metal worker for more than 45 years until his retirement in 1992. He loved antique cars, car racing, music, hunting, fishing, downhill skiing, serving people and was an avid rollerskater and very creative person.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and his son Eric Karl Winn.
He is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Lilly; two sons, David (Julie) of Milaca, Minn., and Ronald (Alice) of Mora, Minn.; two daughters, Carol (Bill) Reynolds of Saginaw, Minn., and Virginia (Douglas) Olson of Scanlon, Minn.; one sister Barbara (Don) McKeever of Duluth; 10 grandchildren, Mark (Heidi) Winn, Andrew Winn, James (April) Winn, Justin (Crystal) Winn, Aaron Winn, David Winn, Jr., Jana' Olson, Amy Olson, Doug Olson, and Mike Winn; four great-grandchildren, Lexi, Tanner, Eriq, and Zack Winn; and two anxiously expected great-grandchildren.
VISITATION:Sunday, June 29, 2003 one hour prior to the 11:30 a.m., memorial service inNelson Funeral Care Chapel, Cloquet with Pastor Gordy Lindquist officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the Cloquet Combined Honor Guard. A luncheon will be held in the fellowship room at the funeral home following the memorial service. Inurnment Silverbrook Cemetery, Silverbrook Township, Minn. Arrangements are by Nelson Funeral Care, Cloquet.
