Willard was born in New Tazell, Tenn. He moved to New Mexico in 1910 to work on a ranch, and came to Newkirk in 1920. He was married to Ruth Lewman April 13, 1923 and the couple resided on a farm northeast of Newkirk. Willard served as fire chief in Newkirk from 1940 to 1955. He was recently employed as night manager of the State Line Filling station, retiring last November.
He is survived by three sons, W.F. Willard, Newkirk, Lonnie Willard, Florida, and Fred D. Willard, El Paso, Texas, two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Nichols, Arkansas City, and Mrs. Louise Powell, Cadlwell, two brothers, Charles Pendleton, New Tazell, Tenn., and Cole Pendleton, Ewing, Va., and one sister, Mrs. Floyd Sandfer, Newkirk, and eight grandchildren.
Services are pending arrival of relatives. The Stahl Funeral Home, Newkirk is in charge.

Willard Services
Newkirk, Okla. - Funeral services for John F. Willard, of Newkirk, who was fatally injured in a three-car-wreck Sunday night north of Newkirk, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, in Stahl Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Russell Towry will officiate. Interment will be in the Newkirk cemetery.
