In 1902, he enlisted In the U. S. Navy, first seeing service on the "Monadnock" under Admiral Dewey. Later he was transferred to the "Glacier" and remained on that ship until he was discharged in November, 1,906.
He traveled all around the world and had many adventures.
By trade he was a plasterer and concrete worker.
He was survived by his parents a brother ,Zacharih;, and four sisters. Sarah Slade, Martha Webster,. Mary Roberts, and . Anna Cramer.
