Bessie Mae Riddle Potter Bailey was born on April 25, 1924 to Frank H. and Kittie Annie (Burch) Riddle in Jack County, Texas. She passed away on Tuesday December 22, 2009 in Jacksboro, Texas. She was 85 years old.

She was a homemaker and a member of Live Oak Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Hugh Bailey, her husband Chester Paul Potter; her daughter JoAnn Gary; her sons James and Larry Potter and her brothers Troy "Mut" and Leon Riddle.

Bessie is survived by daughter Jenelle Batey and husband J. C. of Post Oak, Texas; son-in-law Benny Gary; sons Gary Potter and wife Treva of Levelland, Texas; Paul Potter and wife Gail of Albany, Texas; sisters Bernice Rumage of Jacksboro, Faye Sloan of San Antonio, Eva Lou White of Wichita Falls and Lillian Preddy of Bowie, Texas; 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation prior to the service on Saturday.

Services will be Saturday December 26, 2009 at 2 pm at Coker Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Silver Hill Cemetery.
