Laura Faye Sloan was born on November 29, 1919 to Frank and Kitty Annie (Burch) Riddle in Silver Hill community, Texas (Close to Post Oak). She went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 in Graham, Texas. She was 97 years old.

Laura married James Robert Sloan, Jr. in 1947. She was a homemaker, a cattleman at Sloan's Lost Valley Ranch, and an accomplished artist for Faye's Porcelain & Dolls. She was a long time member of The Wichita Falls Porcelain Art Club, and poured her own nativity figures and dolls in her own molds. She loved to ranch, paint porcelain nativities and dolls, paint on china, oil paint, and fish. Laura was a member of Jermyn Baptist Church and a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J. R. Sloan, Jr.; her brothers Leon, Troy, and James Ray Riddle; her sisters Bess Bayless and Eva Lou Whitehead; and her daughter-in-law Maureen Sloan.

Among those who will cherish her sweet memory include her children Harold David Sloan, Diana Ellis, and Patricia Clerihew; sisters Bernice Rumage and Lillian Priddy; grandchildren Christa Sloan, Lizzie Johnson, James Clerihew, Susan Hruzek, Rex Clerihew, Kirsten Robinson, and Trent Ellis; great-grandchildren Ryan Sloan, Christopher Clerihew, Constance Easley, Lauren Hruzek, Caitlin Hruzek, Kenzie Robinson, Stone Robinson, Colby Ellis, Amanda Ellis, Trista Ellis, Hadley Ellis and soon to be Levi Johnson; and many other extended family members.
