South Bend News-Times, Fri., March 25, 1921, p. 4:
"Harry J. Arndt, well known local sportsman and athlete died last night at the Healthwin hospital after an illness of two years due to complications. Arndt, born in South Bend and trained on the sand lot diamonds of this city, made a name for himself as a ball player and once pastimed with the St. Louis Nationals. He returned to this city a few years ago and took over the management of the South Bend baseball team and did his best to make that team a success and credit to this city.
"Old baseball fans recalled last night the familiar figure of the athlete who was at one time classed among South Bend's best. He was born in this city on Feb. 12, 1879, and had always made his home here. He was married on his birthday, Feb. 12, 1907, to Miss Florence Palmer, who survives him. His mother, Mrs. Kate Arndt, of 515 E. Washington st., and a sister, Mrs. C. C. Schweiss, also survive.
"He was a member of the local order of Elks, No. 235, and the local branch of the K. of C., No. 553. Funeral arrangements have not been completed."

"Funeral services for Harry J. Arndt, well known local sportsman, who died Thursday night at Healthwin following a lingering illness of tuberculosis. will be held Monday morning at St. Patrick's church, Rev. John F.
