Hello,
I'm a Sussex County, Delaware Native and Genealogist for forty plus years researching family in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. ( Remember, if it's not documented it didn't happen.)
When making an edit request on memorial's I manage please provide PHOTO or SOURCE of documentation. No exceptions. Families deserve accurate information not hearsay or speculation.
Documentation to include Birth Records, Marriage Records, Death Records, Census, Probate/Wills, Military Records, Bible Records, Land Records, Obituaries, etc., are VERY important and NECESSARY in proving lineage and most importantly helps to tell a part of their STORY for our future generations .

Old Homestead Family Cemeteries are near and dear to my heart as they are fading and being lost with the passage of time.

I want to thank my daughter, Jamie for helping me research, locate, record and photo the oldest grave marker known in Kent County, Delaware. That of George Craige 1685-1735 and his wife, Isabella Craige 1690-1753

I have learned in my journey as a researcher that just because grandpa or grandma say they're parents were born in England, that may in fact not be so. Just saying!

I'm seeing to many burial unknowns listed. There is a place to add this information. It would be in the biography section of the last known burial of that persons direct line. Please do not add unknown burial's to my memorial's.

Keep in mind Find A Grave is owned by Ancestry.com and is not the place to create an alternate genealogy site. Creating a memorial when the burial site is unknown just to link family members is not in keeping with FAG guidelines.

When you attach a copy of a document to a memorial please do not mark it as a GRAVE PHOTO, PERSONS PHOTO OR FAMILY PHOTO . It should be listed as OTHER.

So many burials are being added because the Death Certificate states the name of a town that has a cemetery named after. This is not always the case unless the word CEMETERY is listed after. Could mean a cemetery within that location but not necessarily the cemetery named after a town.
