Job Egbert, married a widow lady named Elizabeth Wall Pangborn. He helped raise her sons as his own. During the war of 1812, he was a captain of militia in Beaver county, Pennsylvania, as a member of the "Blues.", known for their swallow-tailed coat of blue, trimmed up in buff. He was present at Perry's victory on Lake Erie. One of his step-sons was a fifer of his company.

The history books of Georgetown list Job among the "earliest influential members" of the
Baptist Church that was founded in 1837 on Market Street. The brick building once stood just east of the cemetery.

Job Egbert also served one term as Justice of the Peace for Brown County.
