Leland Clive Hansen, age 76, passed away January 7, 1993.

He was born March 24, 1916 in Emery, Utah, the son of Niels Christian and Carrie Matilda Williams Hansen.

He married Mabel Brown June 12, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Survived by his wife, and children, Richard and Becky Hansen, David and Carol Hansen, Kathy and Robert Rawson, Curtis and Leslie Hansen; and 19 grandchildren; brothers, Virgil, Donald and Glendon Hansen; and a sister, Arvella Robbins.

He served two and a half years as an LDS missionary in Denmark.

In the military he worked up from a private to lt. col during World War II.

His last assignment was that of a military attache for the State Dept. in China.

He was also the group leader over the LDS while in China.

He retired from Anixter Co. after many years as a department manager and sales engineer.

He has been involved in Republican Party grass roots activity and served as a state delegate at many conventions.

He was a lifetime member of the Sons of Utah Pioneers.

He was president of both the Hansen and Williams family organizations for several years.

Has held many leadership and teaching positions in the LDS Church.

He was a student of the scriptures and was a great storyteller based on these histories, as well as creating many original tales of fantasy.

Both young and old will miss his wit and good sense of humor.

Funeral services will be held at Monument Park 7th Ward, 1794 South Texas St. (2450 East) at 1 p.m., Monday, January 11, where friends may call from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. prior to services.

Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery under the direction of Larkin Mortuary.

The family wishes to express gratitude to his wonderful home health nurse, Tamera; also to Marie, Marge and Judy, and all others from the VA Home Health, who helped him to be able to stay home during the last year of his illness.
