LaVerne A. Harness, 84, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2009 at DeKalb Memorial Hospital in Auburn. Born in Hamlet, IN, LaVerne worked as a Truck Driver with Chem Central for 20 years, retiring in 1988. He was a U S Marine Corps WW II Veteran, A memeber of the American Legion Post 47, Past Commander American Legion Post 337 in Woodburn, and a member of the Scottish Rite in Fort Wayne.

Survived by his Sons - Larry (Rita) Harness of Columbia City, IN, Michael (Mary) Harness of Fort Wayne, IN; Daughters - Connie Fisher of Bronson, MI, Cathy (Perry) Hart of Avilla, IN, 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Sisters Mila (Richard) Young of Culver, IN, and Sue (Robert) Fort, and Peg Harness both of Knox, IN; Brothers - Jeff (Pat) Harness of Plymouth IN and Jerry Harness of Florida.

LaVerne was preceded in death by his Wife, Dorothy Harness, granddaughter, Jennifer Boardman, Sister, Loretta Pozorski, Brothers, Lawrence, Merrill, and Dick Harness.
