"He was born Aug. 28, 1899, in Island Heights, NJ to Wilfred D. Jr. and Martha Bagley. The family resided in Maine until he was 4 years of age, then moved to Chico.
"He attended schools here and in Stirling City. He married the former Aileen Thompson April 24, 1920, here. They resided in Paradise where he owned and operated the Paradise Nursery for 40 years. When he retired, they lived in Stirling City, then returned to Paradise where they resided for a number of years. He is survived by his widow, Aileen of Paradise.
"Rev. Robert Scott, pastor of the Bidwell Memorial Presbyterian Church, officiated at today's rites. Wava Backlund was the organist.
"Cremation was at the Chico Crematory and interment of the ashes was at the Chico Cemetery."
