She was born in Prince William County July 28, 1910 to the late Luther and Sarah Cornwell. She is survived by a son and his wife, David and Linda Posey; a daughter and her husband, Peggy and Bill Ritenour all of Prince William County; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; many more nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Three of her most favorite people were Ruby Luther, Leona Garner and Alyce mae Whitt. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Sue Posey.
Visitation was December 23, 2009, at Grace Baptist Church, Dale City, with funeral services by Pastor Emeritus Charles Chilton and Pastor Tim Perrin.
Due to inclement weather, the interment was scheduled at a later date in Stonewall Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church - memo Building fund or your favorite charity. Mountcastle Life Celebration Home, Dale City is in charge of arrangements.
