A native of Kirbyville, he was a U. S. Marine veteran of both Korea and Vietnam.
He was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church in Huntington, and was employed by B & B Timber Company as a logging contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Ruth Daniels of Lufkin; one son, Michael Daniels of Lufkin; three daughters, Ava Christene Byrum of Huntington, and Jody Woods of Cleveland; six brothers, John L. Daniels and Pister Daniels, both of Splendora, Obie Daniels of Porter, David Daniels of Livingston, and Scott Daniels of Houston; three sisters, Dorothy Butler of Houston, Barbara Durham of Pasadena, and Melda Kelly of San Juan, Puerto Rico; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Clarence Durham, Jr., Thomas Daniel Hollaway, Clarence Howard, Dana Daniesl, Alton Howard, and Robert Patrick.
