RINGGOLD, GA — Melinda "Snookie" Anita Kay Bates Brock, 41, passed away Wednesday December 16, 2009, at her residence.

A native of Fort Payne, AL she lived in the Ringgold, GA area for the past 25 years and was formerly of Alma, GA. She was a former employee of Cochran's Truck Stop, where she worked for five years. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard Bomar and Minnie Lee Williams; two aunts, Karrietto Schreiber and Avis Griffin; two uncles, James Rodney and Billy Ray Williams.

She is survived by two daughters, Brandi LeeAnn Hall and Tiffany Anita Brock, both of Ringgold, GA; mother, Bettye Williams Bates, of Ringgold, GA; sister, Melissa LeeAnn Smith, of South Pittsburg, TN.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Carlos Lee Brock Sr. officiating.

Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. EST at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Fort Payne, AL.

The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today and until funeral time Monday at the funeral home.
