Ruth E Thornsberry, 87, of Eldon died Monday, March 8, 2004 in Eldon. She was born March 5, 1917, in Brumley to William Burton and Norma Cecil Connor Sullivan. She was married Jan. 2, 1938, in Brumley to James L. Thornsberry, who died Aug. 5, 1992.

Mrs. Thornsberry had been a beautician and cosmetologist. She was a member of the Brumley Christian Church.

Surviving her are a son and daughter-in-law, J. Paul and Judy Thornsberry of Eldon; two grandchildren, Glenda Hutchison of Eldon and Greg Thornsberry of Jefferson City; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hazel Pope of Osage Beach.

Visitation was to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home in Eldon. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Gene Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Hawkins Cemetery at Brumley. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
