Bob was the son of James Alexander and Estelle Elizabeth "Mollie" Dear Cliburn. His parents are buried in Denson Springs. He was a lifelong resident of Anderson County. He was a farmer for many years in the Denson Springs area and later at Broom City. He was a member of the Slocum Baptist Church. His wife, Loura Foster Cliburn, is buried in Strong Memorial Park. He was a resident of Cartmell Home at the time of his death in a Rusk hospital. He formerly lived at Broom City. He was survived by two grandsons, James Robert Cliburn of Hardin and Michael Wayne Cliburn of Rusk; one brother, R. D. Cliburn of Grapeland; and one great-granddaughter. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Thursday, 20 December 1979.
