Delores "Dee" Day, 80, a lifelong resident of Arkansas City, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at The Vyne at Crestview in Wichita. Survivors in this area include her son and granddaughter, Terry Tidwell and Missy Tidwell, both of Emporia.
Mrs. Day was a pharmacy technician at Arkansas City Memorial Hospital for 20 years before she retired. During World War II, she was a "Rosie the Riveter," helping build airplanes at Boeing in Wichita.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hawks Funeral Home, Arkansas City. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery, also in Arkansas City. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday until service time.
