BARDSTOWN HAYDEN, MARY JULIA, 79 passed away Wednesday January 28, 2009 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was the former Mary Julia McConnell born on June 2, 1929 to Joseph and Corrine Medley McConnell in Springfield, KY. She was a graduate of what was then St. Catherine High School in Springfield, a homemaker, member of TOPPS 262, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Prayer Group of Nazareth and the Homemakers Club. Besides her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Emmanuel "Manuel" Hayden and a brother, Tom McConnell. She is survived by six daughters, Liz Rosser of Florida, Patricia Fogle (Mike) of Louisville, Margie Reichenback of Louisville, Ann Odle (Tommy), of Bardstown, Carolyn Ritchie of Lexington and Kathy Jackson (Gerald), of Bardstown; three sons, Joseph E. Hayden (Donna), of Louisville, Mac Hayden (Nancy), of Villa Hills, KY and Kevin Hayden (Crystal), of Bardstown; her sisters, Margaret Cecil of Elizabethtown, Barbara Simms, of Louisville; a brother, Joe Bill "Mac" McConnell, of Louisville; 26 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and four step-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto Cathedral with Father Troy Overton officiating and burial in St. Joseph Church Cemetery. Friends may kindly call Sunday from 1-8p.m. with prayers at 6 p.m. at the Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
