Cecil Melvin Chalk was the son of Thomas Warsaw and Sarrah Mellissa Nelson Chalk.
He had a sister: Minnie Emma Chalk (1905-1988) and a brother: Henry J.(1910-1910) After his mother died, his father married Florence Archer. From that marriage Cecil had seven half brothers and sisters. Herbert Alvin (1921-1972),Thurman Allen(1923-2006),Hollis (1931-2009),Thomas O'Neal (1933-1940),Euple Lavaughn (1940-1998) Sharon Sue (1943-2006) and Hazel Marie (1944-1944)
