Crookston, Minn. —

Lucille Coauette, 94, of Crookston, Minnesota, died peacefully early Wednesday morning, December 16, 2009 in the Riverview Hospital in Crookston, with all of her children at her side.

Lucille was born on May 3, 1915, at Terrebonne, Minnesota, the daughter of Edmond and Agnes (Thibert) Jolly. She was raised in Terrebonne and attended country school. Lucille was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith. On June 30, 1936, Lucille was united in marriage to Wilfred D. Coauette at Terrebonne, Minnesota. The couple made their home in rural Crookston, where together they worked on the farm and raised their ten children. Lucille was a wonderful cook and she spent many hours preparing meals. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. Lucille enjoyed working in her garden and was an excellent sewer. She always loved spending time with her Birthday Club buddies, visiting and sharing stories. Sadly, Wilfred passed away on November 8, 1980. Lucille was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception parish, and was a 50 year member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who shared in her life.

Loving family members include ten children, Richard (Faye) Coauette of Ft. Mill, SC, Robert (Gayle) Coauette of Burbank, CA, Duane (Judy) Coauette of Crookston, MN, Kenneth (Sherry) Coauette of East Grand Forks, MN, Mylon (Patricia) Coauette of Crookston, Vickie (Kenneth) Borg of Harwood, ND, Ronnie (Carol) Coauette of Mentor, MN, Randy (Suzie) Coauette of Crookston, Bonnie (Bill ) LaPlante of Fergus Falls, MN and Timmy (Robynn) Coauette of Crookston; thirty-two grandchildren; fifty-two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Bernice Sauer of Grand Forks, ND; sisters-in-law, Laura Jolly of Red Lake Falls, MN, Frannie Jolly of Circle Pines, MN, Edith Coauette and Doris Coauette, both of Crookston; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Besides her husband, Wilfred, Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Agnes Jolly; three brothers, Bernard, Andrew and Vern; and two sisters, Beulah and Simone.

The funeral service for Lucille Coauette will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, December 19, 2009, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, Minnesota, with The Very Rev. Bob Schreiner, presiding. Visitation will be at the Cathedral on Friday from 5-7:00 pm, with a 7:00 pm, prayer service, and also at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Crookston. The Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home is assisting with funeral arrangements.
