Vern Jolly, 78, of rural Brooks, MN died Thursday, September 17, 1998 at his farm home near Brooks, MN. Arrangements with the Petterson Funeral Home Inc of Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 21, 1998 at 10:30 Am in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne, MN with Father Tim Bushy Officiating. Burial will be held in the Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 – 8 PM with a 5:00 prayer service at the Petterson Funeral home in red Lake Falls. Also one hour prior to services at the church on Sunday.

Vern Joseph Jolly was born November 9, 1919 at Terrebonne, MN son of Edmund and Agnes (Thibert) Jolly where he was raised and attended school. On April 29, 1941 he was united in marriage to Laura Gagner at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne. The couple lived and farmed in the Terrebonne area all of their lives. He was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and also served of the church Cemetery board for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife Laura Jolly of Brooks, MN: two sons Tom Jolly (Karen) of Milton, WI and Dan Jolly (Shirley) of Red Lake Falls, MN: sisters Lucille Coauette of Crookston, MN, Buelah Gervais of St. Paul, MN, Samona Notorinos of St. Paul, MN, Bernice Sauer of Grand Forks, ND. Daughter in law Joyce Jolly of S. Beloit, IL: eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: sister in law Fran Jolly of Circle Pine, MN.

Vern is preceded in death by his parents, son James Jolly and grandson Jamie Jolly, brothers Bernard Jolly and Andrew Jolly, brothers in law William Coauette, Ted Gervais, Ben Sauer.
