Susannah Irwin, daughter of Hugh & Jane Irwin, was born in Meigs Co, Ohio in 1823 and died at her home in Sidney in 1910 at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 23 days. She married Elza Armstrong Reeves 31 August 1845, in Meigs County, Ohio.
After their marriage, she and her husband set out for what was then the "Far West", stopping in Knox County, Illinois. In the early 1850s they left Illinois by wagon train and came to Fremont County, where Susannah resided until her death.
Elza and Susannah lived on a farm north of Sidney for the majority of their lives. Elza served with Co A 4th IA Cavalry for 4 years. Susannah & Elza had 5 children: Samuel, Hugh, Josiah, Phoebe & Clara.
