Martha A. Bankowski, 84, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009 at 12:17 pm in Fountainview Terrace Golden Living Centers, Laporte, Indiana.
She was born January 11, 1925 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Joseph & Mary (Mark) Pizarek.
On October 26, 1949 in Michigan City, Indiana she married Matthew F. Bankowski, who preceded her on May 28, 2003.
Surviving are 2 Sons, Michael (Lou Ann) Bankowski of Michigan City, & Dr. Matthew J. (Denise) Bankowski of Kaneohe, Hawaii; 2 Granddaughters, Dr. Heather Bankowski of Madison, WI, Katherine "Katie" Bankowski of Michigan City; Grandson, Thomas "Tom" Bankowski of Cosby, TN; 2 Sisters, Sister Margaret Pizarek of Fond Du Lac, WI, Marcella Pizarek of Wamego, Kansas; 2 Brothers, Jacob Pizarek & Jerome Pizarek both of Michigan City.
She was preceded in death by Sisters, Gertrude & Mary Jo Pizarek, and Brothers, John, Joseph & James Pizarek.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, and the St. Mary's Rosary Sodality. Mrs. Bankowski enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening and taking photographs.
