Marie was a long-time resident of Orange and for thirty-five years taught in area schools, retiring from Lutcher Stark High School. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Orange.

She was born, in Arkansas, the oldest child of Alfred Marshall Risinger and Dena Pickard Risinger. She grew up in Tenaha, Texas, and graduated from Tenaha High School.

She held degrees from Stephen F. Austin University, Lamar, and the University of Houston. An enthusiastic bridge player, she received the Life Master award from the American Contract Bridge League.

Survivors include her two children and their spouses: Tom and Sherry Arnall and Dena and Larry Harrison; two grandchildren, Jill Harrison Vassar and husband George and Matthew Harrison and wife Polly; five great-grandchildren; one niece and two nephews; and a number of cousins.

She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd T. Arnall, whom she married on April 10, 1943; her sister Dixie R. Moore; and her brothers David C. Risinger, Darwin A. Risinger, Harry R. Risinger, and Howard D. Risinger.

Graveside services will be held at Orange Forest Lawn Memorial Park in West Orange with Reverend Sharon Turner officiating.

The bride is a member of the Joaquin school faculty. Mr. Smythe is a son of Mrs. G. A. Smythe of Crandall, Miss., and is engaged in the lumber business at Haslam.
