Mr. Chapman died November 30, 1998 in Killeen, Texas A native of Tyler County, he lived in Woodville most of his life. He was a retired Lt. Colonel for the regular Army and a teacher at Chester I.S.D. He was a member of Dogwood Hills Baptist Church in Woodville, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Lawilda McAlister Chapman of Woodville; son, Marcus Chapman of Killeen; son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Heather Chapman of Spurger; granddaughter, Jasmine Chapman of Killeen; grandson, Nathaniel Chapman of Longview; sisters, Jo Ann Norris of Spring and Margie Minter of Woodville; brothers, Robert Chapman, William Chapman and James Lee Chapman all of Spurger, Texas; and a host of family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be the U.S. Army Military Guard.
Services are under the direction of Riley Funeral Home of Tyler County.
