Jerry L. WALTERS, 49, R.R. 1, Box 124A, Winamac, died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday at St.
Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born in Winamac to Earl and Clara GILSINGER WALTERS. He was a U.S.
Army Vietnam veteran, and worked as a signman for the Indiana State Department of Highways.
A lifelong resident of Winamac, he was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Surviving are three sons, Jerry Lee [WALTERS] Jr., Rochester; William S. and Harold
David [WALTERS], both of Winamac; one daughter, Traci Jo WALTERS, Osceola; four
grandchildren; six sisters, Jean NAPIERKOWSKI WHITE, Culver; Lorraine ROSENAU,
Lafayette; Loretta NESTER, Falls Church, Va.; Birdena PEARCE, Charmica, Calif.; Elnore
GIRTON and JoAnn HERO, both of Monterey; and three brothers, John [WALTERS], Fair Oaks;
Ralph [WALTERS], Monterey; and Donald [WALTERS], Argos. Preceding in death were his
parents; and one sister, Karen FLOYD.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with the Rev. Bert
WOOLSON officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery, Winamac. Friends may call
from 2-9 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. A scriptural wake service
will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Military graveside services will be conducted by
the American Legion Post No. 71 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.1728.
