Deceased Name: LANCASTER - Mrs. Willie Catherine Waters Duke 84, formerly of Lancaster, died April 15, 1995, at Wesley-Long Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Greensboro, N.C. Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christ Episcopal Church, where she was a member. The Rev. William Walters will officiate. Burial will be in Lancaster Memorial Park. Mahaffey Funeral Home is in charge.
Mrs. Duke, born in Edgefield County, was the daughter of the late Philemon and Elizabeth ''Lizzie'' Cogburn Waters. She was a homemaker and the widow of Charles Duke. She attended Brenau College in Gainesville, Ga., and was the state regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a former member of the Lancaster Book Club and had been active on the state level with the Girl Scouts of America.
Survivors are her sons, Charles Duke Jr. of New Braunfels, Tex., Dr. William Duke; daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Jones of Greensboro; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
